Description |
The regulations set forth a process to accredit teacher training programs at institutions of higher education in Virginia. This process is intended to assist prospective teachers in obtaining the academic background necessary for quality classroom instruction and to require a level of quality in the professional education sequence for prospective teachers that fosters competence of graduates, to encourage institutions to meet rigorous academic standards of excellence in professional education, and to facilitate reciprocity in the teacher licensure process with other states.
