Action:
Alignment with Other State Agency Regulations
Action 6752
General Information
Action Summary |
As part of its duty to establish and enforce minimum health and safety standards to protect individuals receiving services, DBHDS licensing requirements refer to Virginia Department of Health (VDH) regulations in several places. Some of these references, however, use incorrect or obsolete terminology; refer to the wrong program type; or no longer cite the
correct chapter and need to be updated. The alignment accurately reflects current practice and increases clarity for providers, relieving staff at both agencies of the need to provide technical assistance because the regulations will be easier to understand. This action clarifies existing regulatory requirements, improving ease of use and understanding by licensed providers, individuals receiving services, and other stakeholders, including sister agencies. |
