Action:
Licensure of Canadian nurses
Action 1067
General Information
Action Summary |
The board is amending sections 200 and 210 of its regulations to conform the requirements for licensure of Canadian nurses to changes in the Code of Virginia. The amendments to 18 VAC 90-20-200 and 18 VAC 90-20-210 are made to conform regulations to Chapter 713 of the 2002 Acts of the Assembly, which mandates that nurses who graduated from of a Canadian nursing school where English was the primary language and who passed the Canadian Registered Nurses Examination are eligible for licensure by endorsement. The legislation further provides that eligible applicants from Canada may practice for a maximum of 30 days while awaiting licensure by the board. |
