Description of Proposed Guidance Document Changes
The Code of Virginia ยง 22.1-273.2 requires that each school board provide educational information regarding eating disorders to parents of students in grades five through twelve on an annual basis. The guidance document has been updated from 2015 to reflect current information and best practices related to eating disorders in school age children. The changes include new information on the prevalence of eating disorders among males and the addition of eating disorder toolkits for use by parents, educators, coaches and athletic trainers.
