Please Pass The Poultry Litter Regulation

Dear Sirs,

I am a resident of,Page County, a long time user of the Shenandoah
River and a citizen activist on certain issues. I have canoed and
fished the Shenandoah for more that 60 years and watched it go through
many changes, good and bad.

The factory farms need to be regulated in their use and disposal of
poultry litter. It seems to me that there is really no mystery about
the cause of fish kills occurring in our local waterways.

I have personally watched a farmer drive his tractor along the bank of
a wet weather stream in his field spreading chicken litter as he
went. That can't be a good thing in anyones' view.

The factory farms need to take responsibility for their impact on
their surroundings. The pending regulation needs to be passed to
protect our rivers, our environment and our health.

Thank you,
Wes Porter
