Document after document, email after email, thousands upon thousands I have read regarding our Confederate Monuments, by elected officials and appointed committees. One thing remains missing, the voice of the many who say to leave our monuments alone! Should you put your self interests on the back burner and your own prejudices aside, you would see that Richmond has room to honor more history with no need to touch Monument Ave to do so. It is the perfect opportunity to show others that we as Virginians don’t fall to propaganda orchestrated by vandals, and are strong together, and we can be diverse, with our historic art, and still be part of a future that stays united together. By recognizing our variety of heritages, we can add more to our landscape to tell the story of our state, versus destroying a huge piece of our history, our monuments on Monument Ave. “I prefer the Bible to any other book. There is enough in that, to satisfy the most ardent thirst for knowledge; to open the way to true wisdom; and to teach the only road to salvation and eternal happiness.”- Gen. Robert E. Lee
