Action | Regulations for Licensure of Abortion Facilities |
Stage | Proposed |
Comment Period | Ended on 3/29/2013 |
The permanent regs will improve the termporary regs which have been in place for a year. Reports from the health inspections conducted over the last year report dozens upon dozens of health and safety violations which lead one to believe that the abortion industry can not or will not regulate itself and correct deficiencies. And, during the temporary reg period, abortion facilities implemented some improvements so they could preserve their provisional licenses. Thus, it will not be onerous for them to implement the permanent regs. Finally, abortion is not health care because it kills, it does not heal. However, since the abortion industry exists in our Commonwealth, the safety and health of women must be made certain by having life saving equipment available during procedure and clearly written policies and procedures must be available for all to understand and read.
