I suggest the Board of Education continue with peer review and state approval.  Continuation of this process allows a better sharing of resources as well as a more equitable and consistent program.  Just as programs for those students who struggle are needed, programs for the gifted are equally important.  Without them, these children are not challenged, become bored and waste the gifts they have been given.  The best way to ensure continuation of gifted programs is through state funding.  Elimination of the wording regarding funding at the state level leaves the future of these programs in question; therefore, the wording regarding funding at the state level should not be eliminated.
