On behalf of the Philippine Nurses Association of Southern CA, I strongly support the removal of the CGFNS as a requirement of nurses entry to the state of VA. NCLEX should remain to be the only official measurement of one's competence to practice nursing in the United States and as such all states should follow the same standard throughout. With nursing shortage in the US, requiring CGFNS before somebody could apply for entry to US will continually remain as a barrier. As long as a nurse who has graduated from an accredited school of nursing and has passed the NCLEX should be able to apply for an entry to the US and should be able to practice nursing in the US.
