Physical therapists that dry needle provide a valuable resource and skill that differs greatly from acupuncture. The immense amount of training required to become a practicing PT ensures that they are knowledgeable about the body to a degree that most acupuncurists are not, and allow them to successfully identify trigger points to dry needle and provide relief to patients. Taking away the ability for physical therapists to dry needle would be a disservice to both the therapists offering the service, and the patients that rely on it.
