GovernorMcCauliff is more afraid of citizens with firearms thhan is the General Assembly. He has banned the carrying of firearms in Executive Branch facilities when there has been no instance of rapid mass murder taking place in suchfacilities. The General Assembly, on the other hand, has passed laws setting out who is unsafe or improper to posses a firearm and leaves the rest of the citizens alone unless their individual behavior shows them to have become unsafe or unfit.
Turning an entire branch of government into a gun-free zone can only have a chilling effect on citizens and visitors needing or desiring to do business with the Commonwealth. A government that fears its citizens ought to be feared itself.
