The abortion clinic regulations passed by the General Assembly in 2011 included stricter building codes on clinics, calling for physical renovations, such as wider hallways and doorways. The safety of women undergoing abortions should be of utmost importance.  Medical personnel must be able to get stretchers and equipment into the clinic in an emergency.  As was clearly demonstrated by the numerous violations found when inspections and re-inspections of the clinics were done, abortion facilities desperately need strict regulations and regular inspections.
