I am in support of the proposal for several reasons:
1. Healthcare is in a state of crisis, and anything we can do to extend access to healthcare to families of state workers is a step in the right direction to reduce the number of uninsured Virginians.
2. Progressive healthcare access policies help the Commonwealth's agencies recruit and retain talented professionals who are accustomed to these same coverages in private industry plans
3. The plan is revenue neutral.
