I am opposed to the proposed extension of health care benefits to other people who are not part of or currently receiving coverage under a family plan, i.e. husband, wife and/or children, or a single individual plan currently being considered by Governor Kaine.  Such extension would violate the Constitution of Virginia and result in an increase in costs currently being borne by the individual and the taxpayers.  I am a retiree of the state and strenuously object to this effort to curry favor with political leaders of the liberal stripe and potential voters who would seek to circumvent or undermine the moral underpinnings of not only the Constitution, but society itself.  The family unit is the foundation of society and need not be a further target of those who would re-define or even destroy the traditional family unit.  God ordained and established the family and also governments to protect and defend the family from all who would seek to destroy it and the individuals who comprise each unit.  Please do not allow this subterfuge to go any further.  The results from its continuation would become a far greater headache than any of us would have ever imagined!
