Remember the good old days when students could go to learn and teachers could go to teach? Sure you had many different personalities, race/ethnicity, various religious beliefs, taste in music, and their own passions in life; none of these impacted my personal beliefs, there was no expectation from others that I shall adopt their beliefs nor were they forced down my throat in a manner such as this ridiculous proposed policy. As a parent of three young children this policy is deeply concerning. This will be another hurdle and distraction that will reduce the teaching capacity of teachers and the learning capacity of students. I fear this will drive the good educators out because teaching false science and made up pronouns is not what they agreed to when they went into this career. Quite frankly, I don’t want my kids subjected to this nonsense either. I would love to see statistics on how many transgender students there are in elementary school and middle school in Virginia, because I can’t find anything under the age of 13. If that’s the case why are we subjecting these young children to made up pronouns and forcing everyone to adhere to a policy full of lies. I am firm believer that ALL people should be treated with dignity and respect no matter their beliefs, race, etc. In closing, I fully support students suffering from this mental disease known as gender dysphoria and I’m in favor of those vast minority of students getting the help they need, but leave the majority of children out of this nonsense and let them focus on learning real science and truths.
