Guidance Document Change: The Model Policies for the Treatment of Transgender Students in Virginia’s Public Schools guidance document was developed in response to House Bill 145 and Senate Bill 161, enacted by the 2020 Virginia General Assembly, which directed the Virginia Department of Education to develop and make available to each school board model policies concerning the treatment of transgender students in public elementary and secondary schools. These guidelines address common issues regarding transgender students in accordance with evidence-based best practices and include information, guidance, procedures, and standards relating to: compliance with applicable nondiscrimination laws; maintenance of a safe and supportive learning environment free from discrimination and harassment for all students; prevention of and response to bullying and harassment; maintenance of student records; identification of students; protection of student privacy and the confidentiality of sensitive information; enforcement of sex-based dress codes; and student participation in sex-specific school activities, events, and use of school facilities.

Strongly Opposed to HB145 and SB161

I am strongly opposed to HB 145 and SB 161.   Why is this small minority of individuals given

such attention and acceptance?  This minority upsets, and confuses other children and their

parents for that matter.  Why do male and female children have to give up their bathroom/locker room privacy and safety for this minority?  Why does the State of Virginia have the authority to subvert parental guidance and teaching in the sexual realm?   These types of political, agenda policies, where will they end?  Why does the state of Virginia have

the right to decide genders and not God who made male and female?  What are the next

policies?  Rules and regulations on how to treat or interact with single, married, divorced,

Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Spanish, Japanese, Italians, white, black, Asians?  Hey, State of

Virginia, the concentration would be teach children general rules of telling the truth,

politeness, the classics and critical thinking and the Constitution of the United States and

by the way, history.  I would strongly encourage parents to home school, or another

good alternative to public schools. There is such a thing as education and there is

such a thing as Indoctrination.   Wake up America or one day there will be no more

America to wake up to.
