Guidance Document Change: The Model Policies for the Treatment of Transgender Students in Virginia’s Public Schools guidance document was developed in response to House Bill 145 and Senate Bill 161, enacted by the 2020 Virginia General Assembly, which directed the Virginia Department of Education to develop and make available to each school board model policies concerning the treatment of transgender students in public elementary and secondary schools. These guidelines address common issues regarding transgender students in accordance with evidence-based best practices and include information, guidance, procedures, and standards relating to: compliance with applicable nondiscrimination laws; maintenance of a safe and supportive learning environment free from discrimination and harassment for all students; prevention of and response to bullying and harassment; maintenance of student records; identification of students; protection of student privacy and the confidentiality of sensitive information; enforcement of sex-based dress codes; and student participation in sex-specific school activities, events, and use of school facilities.

It is unreasonable to discriminate against the majority in favor of the minority. Also, where is the belief in science now? We believe in COvid science facts, “evolution” science, etc, but not when it pertains to the science of the human body and DNA make-up? We cannot allow children to act on their feelings and possible mental illnesses in order to punish or cause even more harm to themselves and others. Do we allow the delusions of someone with schizophrenia to dictate how we run society? No, that would be absurd! The same goes for this gender dysphoria. We would allow a girl with fully developed breasts who then decides she is a male, to run around topless at a sporting event where the other males are also shirtless? This could lead to some possible sexual assault of this young lady who then identifies as a male or even unnecessary nudity that those young males would then be subject to see. I can see so many horrible consequences from these rules. You all are doing a great disservice to everyone to allow this confusion and madness to continue. There will be many sad consequences if this were to pass. What is evil will become good, and what is good will be evil—that is what we are seeing here. I am all for respecting every person that God has created, but you cannot punish other people for disagreeing with the gender changes. These kids that feel they are a different gender need loving guidance, counseling, and are certainly needing of respect, but these policies will only make so many things worse. Please do not allow this to happen in our school systems!!
