“Schools shall allow students to assert a name and gender pronouns that reflect their gender identity without any substantiating evidence.” (Draft Policy, p.13)
Do NOT accept policy as written. Accountability and Security considerations must be complied with. Enroll with proper and legal documentation. Pick a nick name under current rules. As a teacher, many students refer to generic nic-names (a female student likes to be called Bobbi. Another male student likes to be called Staci.) These are very appropriate ways already in place. why we do not added policy with vague, unclear and ambiguous language.
Public School has the resposnibility for knowing who students are legally - legally enrolled
