my son is now on a waitlist for a nursing home

My son is 17.  Before EVV we had 4 friends willing to help with him. Our aides actually work way more than they even get paid for sometimes just to help out. Our son only goes to school 3 hours and not consistently. (Misses frequently for dr appts or if he’s sick or there is a lot of sickness in the classroom), We work. So unless he’s in school he needs an aide all day. Then he’s a two person lift. So two people in eve for bath etc. then we have to sleep at night so sometimes aides are here and repositioning and turning him hourly.  Everyone quit on us.  We were unable to find replacement staff for the pay level, lack of benefits, no paid time off.  EVV left us high and dry.  They weren't doing it for the money anyway, just to help us out.  EVV was the final slap in the face.  Hopefully my son will get the child's nursing home slot soon.
