To whom it may concern,

I would like to wholeheartedly express my support for the changes to 12 VAC 5 - 550. 

Having a documented gender marker that properly expresses the lived experiences and gender of any individual is paramount in navigating legal, educational, and professional system. When that documentation is lacking or incorrect (such as the gender marker "Male" on a person who identifies as, presents as, and appears as a female), it can lead to significant increases in basis and prejudice faced by that individual. The proposed change not only assists in allowing for this, it also allows us to show the country that Virginia is not going to be left behind in the move towards justice and civil rights. 

I know that our beautiful state will do the right thing.
