"Experience may be substituted for the education requirement". This statement should be deleted, and amended to read:"A registered nursing license may be substituted for the education requirement".  Due to the complex nursing care needs of some individuals in care, especially in sponsored residential homes, the higher level of  education and training may be vital to ensure the health and safety needs of individuals. This is especially important in the case of complex medical needs such as tracheostomies, feeding tubes, catheters, pressure wounds, and colonoscopies. In many cases, daily supervision is necessary to avoid destabilization.
