In the proposed changes to the Rules and Regulations for Licensing Facilities and Providers, please remove the stipulation that direct support providerso not live in the homes. The people with disabilities who have chosen to live in L'Arche Greater Washington, DC, a provider with homes in Arlington, would lose the option of living in the type of environment they prefer--one where people with and without disabilities live together. The care L'Arche provides is so meaningful precisely because of the relationships that exist between the people with disabilities and those without. Please consider changing the definition of group homes to allow for the choice to live in a home where the direct support providers live together with the people with disabilities. Thank you.
