The support of carbon cap, trade and invest by linking or joining the RGGI (Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative) will benefit ratepayers, the state, and the environment.  What is often forgotten is the importance of reduced emissions to the health of children and adults with asthma and chronic lung disease, the decrease of heat related illness, and the many infectious diseases that are spreading from tropical areas due to climate warming.  The VA Clinicians for Climate Action, the Physicians for Social Responsibility and other medical groups support the Executuve Order 11 and the moves to curb climate change.
