There are hundreds of hundreds of shelters across the United States and it has been shown in the past few months that the shelter in Virginia run by PETA has some of the worst turn around for absolutely no known reason. Other shelter operate in similar areas under the same stresses and do not kill as many animals. That PETA has come out recently as saying that most of the animals which were surrendered to their shelter were not-adoptable is dispicable. The majority of animals are owner surrenders or strays brought in by concerned people who believe what is best for the animal will happen, but they don't get any chance.
We need to hold PETA and their shelter responsible and enforce better record keeping, especially now that it has come out that employees were encouraged to falsify records and lie about the amount of animals brought in, drugs used, and many other variables so that they could and did kill more animals than they recorded.
