As a person active in dog rescue who lives in southwest Virginia in Washington County, I strongly oppose the practice of killing shelter animals.  I find PETA particularly egregious as it kills under the image of caring for and preserving the animals, something that cannot be further than the truth.  There are many of us who work successfully with the shelters in find homes for these animals.  A good case in point is the shelter in Appomattox.  So many success stories of shelter staff working along side rescues and trainers.  It can be done.  But when we are never given the chance, it grieves us greatly.  I strongly support NO KILL and strongly support the removal of PETA from being an approved shelter provider in my home state where I have lived all my sixty years.  Prayers for the animals.  Thanks for considering my comment.
