SO-called "no-kill" fanatics are pushing policies and regulations that are designed to keep animals out of shelters, and it's resulting in an increase in the number of animals dying on the streets, being thrown away like trash in dumpsters, attacking people and their pets, and a whole host of other serious problems for both animals and the community. This petition largely seeks to duplicate records that most shelters already keep. Forcing additional recordkeeping requirements on public and private shelters will not improve the care of animals in shelters and will not create adoptive homes. The only consequences would be to divert already-burdened resources away from animal care, rescue, cruelty investigations, adoptions, and more. Please OPPOSE this push by people who do not work in shelters and have no idea what that work entails. Thank you.
