Elimination of the additional 30 days would help reduce state error rates and potential fiscal sanctions from FNS.  It would also help improve the processing timeliness of applications ensuring recipients receive any benefits to which they are entitled expeditiously.  It would also reduce the workload of already overburdened Benefit Programs Specialists/Eligibility Workers, thereby improving morale and retention.
