Strong opposition to weekly cap of caregiving hours

We are writing to express our profound concern and strong opposition to the proposed cap of 56 caregiver hours per week for our family.

As parents of an autistic adult son who requires constant, around-the-clock supervision and intensive assistance with activities of daily living due to significant behavioral challenges, severe sleep disorders, and profound functional limitations, our current allocation of hours is already stretched to its absolute limit. Proposing a reduction or cap under these circumstances is completely unacceptable and fails to reflect the reality of our daily care requirements.

Providing a safe, stable environment for an individual with high support needs demands continuous intervention and monitoring. Reducing these essential resources threatens the well-being and safety of our son, while placing an unsustainable burden on our family.

We urge you to reject this proposal immediately and maintain the necessary caregiver hours required to ensure proper care and safety.
