I've been a caregiver for over five years to a wonderful young adult who cannot physically eat, walk or use a bathroom and has no voice to express his wants or needs.  He sleeps odd hours in very short spurts so someone is with him 24 hrs a day.  Cutting hours for a case like his is unrealistic and sad for all involved.  What would the state do if nobody can take care of him?  A facility is 10x the cost of this 12.00 hourly rate.
