I understand that the budget needs to be cut. What is happening here, which is being made abundantly clear by the statements in this town hall, will lead to a much more costly outcome. The inability of the families and caretakers to pay bills necessary to house clients and themselves will lead to mass homelessness, and the breaking of an already teetering system. In many severe cases it will lead to starvation, abuse, and a breakdown of our disability community, our caregiving families. This will reflect monumental financial stress on our government in the long run, making these cuts more costly, and at the detriment of thousands of lives in misery and death. Please reconsider these changes.
