Independent Service Facilitators are invaluable. Elderly children are caring for their more elderly parents and these services are needed. In my case I am 2mo te away from being 77 yrs old and I am caring for my 95 yo mother. I can care for her but keeping up with the rule changes, understanding everything, heck just the enrollment process I could not have done without an independent service facilitator. If i didn’t have help with this my mother would be in a home and honestly probably wouldn’t be alive. I give her one on one care and the love of a daughter. This is not available in a home. Whenever I have questions, Ms Meredith is there. She checks on us frequently and I appreciate her care and support. People in her role are needed and the need will increase because the younger generations are not interested in us old folks. The appreciation and care for their elders has been lost leaving the old to care for the old.
