With all of the changes that DMAS has made recently, it has felt like a deliberate attack on the services that people with disabilities require in order to continue living their lives in the community, achieving goals, and being both healthy and safe. The only saving grace has been that we have had our service facilitators to support us to understand the changes, to create plans that meet the needs of the consumer, and ensure that our daughter has what she needs to be safe & healthy. We have experienced what happens without this support, and what happens with this support. My daughter's health and well-being are both stable -- and saving Medicaid thousands and thousands of dollars through that stability -- because of the work that our service facilitator does to ensure that she is receiving the hours and services that she needs for that health & safety. Do not take away service facilitation.
