I have been a member of Oxford house since 2024 in Richmond VA. To say it’s given me my life back is an understatement. We have been operating in a self governing, self supporting manner for over 50 years. These are our homes and we have built a family within our houses and our communities. We do not want, or require staff members. We are democratically ran, we work together to ensure our houses and chapters operate efficiently and hold each other to a standard of excellence.  I support rules that keep people safe, but rules that require staff or assume every home is a commercial business would keep Oxford Houses from operating in Virginia, even though research shows our model gets the best results. Please change those rules, and please clarify whether house members are considered the operator.
