Why not to close the Oxford house!

Here’s a more personal note that someone could send to explain why their Oxford House should remain open:

I’m asking that you please reconsider shutting down the Oxford House. This house is more than just a place where people live—it’s a place where people in recovery have found stability, accountability, and hope.

For the people living here, this home has become a safe environment where we can focus on staying sober, working, rebuilding relationships, and becoming better versions of ourselves. We hold each other accountable and support one another through the good days and the hard ones.

Taking this house away could put people back into situations and environments they have worked incredibly hard to escape. Recovery is already difficult enough without taking away a stable and supportive place to live.

I understand that there may be concerns that need to be addressed, and I believe those concerns should be heard and taken seriously. But I also hope the positive impact this house has had on the people who live here is considered before making a decision that could affect so many lives.

Please give the people in this house the opportunity to continue their recovery and the life they have worked so hard to build. This house matters, and the people who call it home matter.
