I am surprised to realize that EMS personnel are not allowed to carry a concealed handgun.  I find it hard to believe anyone would have banned EMS personnel from having an appropriate means to protect themselves if they feel the need to.  They respond to so many situations.  They bring appropriate tools to provide medical attention to people.  Why would they be banned from bringing an appropriate tool to protect themselves (handgun)? providing they have demonstrated proper training and handling of the handgun? Their life should be considered as valuable as the life they are trying to save.
