Comment on piercing laws

Do not allow nurses or doctors to continue piercing. It’s a slap in the face to professionals like myself who dedicate our career to this field. If we as piercers can’t do things nurses can despite having very similar qualifications, they should not be able to do this job. It effectively removes the legitimacy of the professionals in the field of body arts. They are not properly trained, and if you asked for input from actual piercers, they would tell you the same. Fix those laws to stop unqualified people from doing something they have no business doing. They went into the field for nursing, if they want to be piercers, they need to go through the same process. Similarly, gun piercing needs to be outlawed. It’s horribly damaging to the tissue and causes lifelong issues. Ear lobe and ear only licenses have no place when body piercing licenses exist. The practitioner needs to be well versed and able to handle and troubleshoot problems. This path allows for them to do the job poorly, and pass the problem off to someone like myself who can actually help them. It’s frankly  irresponsible to let all of that continue. Please consider this statement for this term, and for any future law proposals. Ask the professionals instead of unilaterally making rules that hurt people. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
