I do not support this petition. There is no evidence that the menhaden fishery in the Chesapeake Bay is in decline.  Regulating a business to the point that it goes out of business to satisfy the wants of a special interest group is absurd. 

If Omega Protein is forced to pay for a study of the health of the menhaden in the Chesapeake and the study proves that everything is fine, this will not satisfy any of these conservationists and recreational fishermen. They would claim that the study was flawed because Omega paid for it, and we would be right back where we started.
