As the gifted coordinator for our school district, I would like to support the recommndations for changes to the proposed revisions as stated by the Virginia Consortium.  After reading these well defined recommendations, it seems in the best interest of our gifted population as well as the many school districts to make these changes. 

Developing a plan on a yearly basis  does not show any time or effort has gone into long-term planning.  Having gifted coordinators submit a 5 year plan to be reviewed and approved by the State allows a school division to show progress over time.

Please do not approve this plan as it has been proposed.
