Hello sir or madame: I Support the petition for rulemaking seeking to ban purse seine (net) menhaden fishing in shallow waters of the Chesapeake Bay.

 

The recovery of osprey populations in the Bay is one of our big success stories. Don't jeopardize this by allowing over-fishing of menhaden.

 

This is the migrating season for ospreys. They need nutrient-rich menhaden to fuel their flight to winter grounds. And we need a healthy population of menhaden to support ospreys in the Chesapeake Bay.
