It is obvious the thought process behind this came from decision makers unfamiliar with sacrifices made so that the waiver can work to ensure health and safety of their loved ones. If our love ones were in a institution or nursing facility, the cost would be significantly higher with sub par care. Additionally, frequent staffing shortages in those facilities place our loved ones at risk. LRI’s are saving the state money. I oppose implementing EVV and a 40 hour weekly cap. Plus, I still cannot wrap my head around the thought of families having to prove extraordinary care. There is no cure for ID or DD.
