RGGI is an incredibly significant piece of legislation that betters the lives of the people of Virginia. It has been working to decrease power plant emissions, emissions decreasing by 12.5% between 2020-2021 and by 8% between 2021-2022. This is a significant shift, and makes a difference in lowering air pollution which betters communities. This could prevent issues such as asthma and premature birth, with states realizing billions in public health benefits through RGGI.
Please do not let this incredible opportunity go — it is an unlawful repeal that serves only to promote one-sided partisan opinions and ignores law mandating that Virginia participates.
