Oppose the repeal. RGGI is working, decreasing power plant emissions in Virginia by 12.5% between 2020 and 2121. RGGI will lower air pollution, lowering the amount of asthma attacks and missed days from work. In six years, participating states in RGGI realized $5.7 billion in public health benefits. Lowering the dependence on power plants will minimize environmental injustice where power plants are placed in minority communities for lack of respect for these individuals.
