Keep RGGI

Please do NOT withdraw from RGGI. The cost to our health is far greater than utility costs.

Consider the cost of utilities, and, consider the high cost to our health. Air and water pollution brings poor health, disability, and even death. Consider flooding loss of housing and business, street access, and logistics.

Virginia needs flood aid. We need RGGI to fund flood aid, including the loan plan. Most of us cannot afford to repay a loan after the complete devastation of sewage and fertilizer in floodwater.

Our stormwater utility fees went up due to increased flooding. It is wishful thinking to believe that utilities won't raise their rates if Virginia exits RGGI.

Virginia cannot afford to exit RGGI while polluted air chokes us and floodwaters rise.

It costs much more to restore lost health, homes and business—if they can even be restored. We all, including utilities, have a responsibility to get and keep clean air and water.
