Pet store regulation

Re: pet store regulation
I must begin by noting my belief that the commodification of God's living, sentient creatures is a great problem at its essence. However, I also realize that awareness lies far in the future and today's reality is that we do commodify these creatures.

Given that sad reality it is, at the very least, our responsibility to give the creatures held and sold in pet stores every possible protection from harm, misuse, neglect, and misery. This requires strong regulation and oversight, as those who are inclined to sell animals in pet shops are commonly those who care almost exclusively about profit over care. History has shown repeatedly that pet store owners will make extreme efforts to avoid accountability and hide the results of their neglect and misuse of animals. Please continue to increase the oversight and regulation of pet store operations. It is our collective responsibility.
Thank you.
