Proposed changes re: parental consent

The school system and NCLB have always placed high value on parental participation.  It is imperative for success.  VDOE's proposed change aimed to weaken or eliminate parental participation would not benefit the children or the families.  This proposed change sends a very strong message to me that, as a parent, my comments/participation is not welcome.  It tells me that I am not an equal partner with the school and will create a very negative atmoshpere and deteriorate the school/parent relationship.  Once again, this propsed change will not benefit the children and should not be passed.
