The proposed regulations are a huge step backward.

UNbelievable that there is a proposal by Virginia's Board of Education to reduce parent rights and involvement where THEIR own child's education is concerned !!!

What a shame that school authorities must be told that parents know their child best, and that these kids do not have a "voice" and so it is critical that their parents be included.  That is FUNDAMENTAL ! And you know it.

How can an IEP possibly be effective without critical team members ??  I think the real question is:
"What is the real agenda here?"  Because you surely understand that the price will be paid by our kids with disabilities.  And you surely understand that you will no longer be able to tout the slogan "No Child Left Behind".

On behalf of Virginia's children with disabilities, please do not take this huge step BACKward.  Please go back to the drawing board.
