I would like to see Virginia's energy policy be all-inclusive as we attempt to transition to renewables. Too often, we have focused all of our efforts on one or two technologies to discover down the road that we have no alternatives or solutions, when needed, to turn to that are competitive, reliable, responsible, and rural. Natural gas and Propane are essential to the Energy Plan and are some of the cleanest forms of energy compared to others. While I am all for renewables, we must continue improving our infrastructure and emissions with these fuels to have a well-rounded energy mix. Renewable Natural gas and Propane gas significantly reduce emissions in heating, cooking, water heating, transportation, emergency backup power, and industrial uses. They are domestically produced, offer many American jobs, are environmentally friendly, and are here now!
