While "Cultural Competency" is catchy alliteration, the words juxtaposed are senseless.  Who among us is qualified to judge such?  Would not someone or something inevitably be left out? neglected? subordinated?  Licensure should provide us teachers who know deeply and broadly their subjects and who communicate clearly in speech and writing.  Let us focus on what most matters to avoid muddling our goal, teaching and learning.
