| Action Summary |
This regulatory action is needed to amend and reissue the existing Virginia Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (VPDES) General Permit Regulation for Potable Water Treatment Plants. This general permit regulation establishes limitations, monitoring requirements and other conditions for point source discharges of wastewater from potable water treatment plants to surface waters in order to maintain surface water quality.
The existing general permit expires on June 30, 2028, and must be amended and reissued to cover existing and new wastewater discharges from such sites.
