The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is establishing the Medicaid Member Advisory Committee (MAC) in order to provide a vehicle for members’ voices to be included in the DMAS decision-making process and to inform DMAS change management strategies. The committee is made up of Medicaid-enrolled individuals and the DMAS Director or her designee.
DMAS is committed to examining its programs and services to ensure that the best results are achieved for the Medicaid members. The Committee Members will examine and provide input on the impact of DMAS services and programs on their health care. The goal is to obtain the insight and recommendations of Virginia’s Medicaid enrollees in order to help DMAS improve individuals' program enrollment and health care delivery.
The location for the MAC's inaugural meeting is the Department of Medical Assistance Services, 600 East Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23219. The meeting shall be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on April 1, 2019, in rooms 7A & 7B.
The meeting shall include presentations providing general background on Agency organization and programs, and opportunities for MAC members to share their experiences, observations and recommendations. In addition, there shall be a public comment period of between 15 and 30 minutes. DMAS shall have available a sign-up sheet for members of the public; anyone wishing to provide public comment is required to note that intention on the sign-up sheet. The Agency welcomes public comment, but requests members of the public limit their comments to topics directly related to the Medicaid enrollee experience.
Anyone requiring special accommodations may contact Walter Burton at least three (3)buisness days prior to the meeting.
